No more Labour cuts - Conservatives demand fair access to social care
As the full extent of Labour's cuts to services affecting the elderly and most vulnerable people in Lambeth becomes clear, there is a rising tide of anger amongst residents also faced with an inflation-busting council tax increase.
Conservative Group Leader Cllr John Whelan says: "The proposed 132 per cent rise in charges for social care for the elderly is targeted at the most vulnerable members of the community. These services include helping the elderly get out of bed, getting food and having a wash. None of these cuts were in Labour's election manifesto."
