Scandal rocks City Hall
Police have raided a Clapham based 'taxi school' that received tens of thousands of pounds of funding from Ken Livingstone's London Development Agency (LDA).The money was given to support an organisation called the South London Green Badge Taxi School, which is supposed to teach the Knowledge to would-be ethnic minority taxi drivers.
However, allegations have been made that the school never operated properly and the majority of the funding disappeared.
The project was run by close associates of the Mayor's controversial advisor, Lee Jasper, who is already facing a number of investigations into the role he played in directing the LDA to give sizable grants to organisations run by his associates, where the majority of the money was never properly accounted for.
This is just one of 4 LDA-funded projects that the police have been called in to investigate. More are expected.
